Astronaut Sally Ride died peacefully after a battle with cancer. It was not revealed until her death that she had had a 27-year relationship with her female partner, Tam E. O’Shaughnessy, a psychology professor and a childhood friend.

Sally Ride was a woman who paved the way for other women like myself – thank you Sally for being such a brave girl!
