Thanks to Patxi Pizza co-founders Bill Freeman and Paxi Azpiroz for supporting grieving children!

Be sure to mark your calendars, San Francisco readers! There’s an exciting (and tasty) event approaching. Come nibble on pizza at Patxi’s Inner Sunset location on Wednesday, October 9th, for a good cause: the grass-roots organization Josie’s Place will receive a portion of all sales from the Inner Sunset location for the entire day (11:00am-10:00pm).

Enjoy some pizza at the restaurant, order some food to go, or take home a half-baked pizza for another time. Invite your friends, family and colleagues! We also encourage you to ask your work friends and colleagues to order pizza for lunch meetings and dinner on the day of the fundraiser.

Your generous support helps Josie’s Place continue program services in grief support and education. In addition to ongoing support groups, Josie’s Place plans to launch their first Spanish grief support groups in the Mission District in the Fall of 2013.

Josie’s Place provides facilitated peer-support groups to children and teens in the San Francisco Bay Area who are grieving the death of a parent, sibling, close relative or friend. We are here for the community with trained volunteer facilitators, who are ready to assist participants in the healing process. In addition, we lead parent/guardian group meeting, so that the entire family can receive support.
