Jokes 4 Miles Helps 19-year-old Laugh His Way Through His Treatment

Miles Austrevich, Len Austrevich, Cancer, Comedy, Healing, Treatment, Terminal IllnessMiles Austrevich has been fighting brain cancer on and off since 2008. While he’s in the hospital, his father, comedian Len Austrevich, has asked his son’s schoolmates, doctors, comedians, celebrities, and strangers to send jokes to help Miles laugh his way through his treatment. His goal is to get 5,000 people to tape a quick joke or message, to show Miles that he’s not alone in his fight.

Through the campaign, called Jokes 4 Miles, they hope to create awareness worldwide and to inspire people to go out of their way to help someone facing a life-threatening illness. They plan to reach out to other kids like Miles in the future.

Len and Miles are also working on a documentary, which will follow Miles as he visits National Parks to photograph them, as well as his story of facing this fight with humor. They hope to reach their goal of 5,000 jokes before they hit the road for the Redwoods.

Since the campaign’s launch on January 1, they’ve already received over 200 jokes, songs, raps, and messages. If you’d like to record a quick joke for Miles, check out the video below, and submit your jokes through the Jokes 4 Miles site.
