Choosing to Die at Home – SevenPonds’ ongoing Pondering the Last Taboo talk

An informal chat with SevenPonds: Let's open the conversation on end-of-life!

Suzette090115 0107We at SevenPonds would like to thank everyone who attended our first Pondering the Last Taboo talk. We had very open conversations about the topic of death, and simply had a wonderful time. Our event’s been featured in the local newspaper, the Potrero View. We’re happy to announce our second event, “Choosing to Die at Home” that takes place on Monday June 17th, 6pm – 8pm PST at our office, 198 Texas St, San Francisco.

Today, more people choose to spend their last days at home over dying in the hospital. Our talk will give you tips & advice on how to carry out this personal process smoothly:

*How to bring a loved one home to die?

*What is Palliative care and when it is an option?

*What is Hospice care and what to know?

*Tips for caring for a loved one.

Facilitating our talk will be Valerie Hopkins, Nurse Educator with Hospice By the Bay. She’s been a nurse for more than 20 years with ICU, ER, and Telemetry experience. Currently she’s working at Hospice By The Bay where she teaches nursing facility staff, family members and the community about subjects related to the end of life.

We’ll be serving wine and cheese, and the neighborhood has plenty of free parking!

Please feel free to RSVP at pondering@sevenponds.com. Help us spread the word! We’re very excited and can’t wait to see you all!
