Our Tip of the Month

With minimal craft store supplies, you can create a handmade holiday wreath for a grieving friend. This pompom wreath by Hearth & Vine is a cozy decorative gift to share with a friend who can use some extra warmth this season. As an added bonus, it’s a fun and easy project to complete in just an hour or two.

To make your holiday wreath, you’ll need:

How-To Suggestions:

  • Wrap a strand of yard around the cardboard rectangle at least 20 times
  • Tuck the ends of the yarn under the wrapped bits and tie them around the wrapped portion

  • Slip the wrapped yarn off of the cardboard
  • Cut the yarn through the middle opposite from the tied ends

  • Use the floral wire to attach the pompom to your wreath frame

  • Continue this process until your entire wire frame is covered in lush, fuzzy pompoms

  • Trim your pompoms as needed

You can add a cheery white bow to your finished project to add contrast to your rich holiday-themed wreath. Don’t be afraid to experiment by adding other materials such as bells, ribbons, bows or even pine cones to the wreath, too. Or if you’re feeling extra creative, you can make pompoms from two or three different colored yarns and alternate them for a multi-colored effect.
