Our Tip of the Week:
Funerals, memorials, celebration of life ceremonies — they may be difficult to get through, but eventually you will be able to remember these events and take comfort in the love and support that abounded from others on that day.
Enlist the help of friends and family in memorial event planning. Let them help you find the perfect decorations for the memorial; the ‘personal touch’ to create a lovely, long-lasting memory. Consider ash-scattering ceremonies: they can be difficult (decoration-wise), as they’re often in a location (ex. waterfall, ocean, mountain top) that doesn’t call for, or allow, many decorative elements. In that case, turn your attention towards the end-of-life vessel itself, embellishing it with whatever you see fit to represent the memory of the loved one.
How-to Suggestion:
Many people still opt for a classic urn as the receptacle for a lost loved one, but don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Consider different materials that speak to your surrounds (ex. this “tree bark” box). Sprinkle flowers or petals over the ashes, which are both a delicate and environmentally friendly touch.
