Our Tip of the Week: Planning a memorial service in the midst of heartbreak over the loss of your beloved can be the most challenging of tasks. Yet details need not always be fussy. Your choice of a memorial floral arrangement design can be easy while also speak volumes in expressing the desire for your loved one to not be forgotten.

Historically many flowers have each been given a special meaning and SevenPonds has written of this in the past here. But some flowers speak louder than others.

Consider the simplest of ideas by placing a handful of petite forget-me-nots in a vase to let your guests, and the heavens above, know how deeply you feel. A small handful of these flowers on each table packs a power punch of a message.

How-to Suggestion: Sweet forget-me-nots can be hand-picked from a garden or specially purchased from certain flower shops. Often the local wholesale floral vendors can be the better location for such a unique purchase. These lovely tiny blue flowers with bright yellow centers need only be placed in a small simple vase. This can be a cost saving idea too.

You may choose to line three vases of forget-me-nots down each table or add some wild flowers to each bunch. To ensure they last through the service, cut or trim the stems under water first before plopping them in a vase. These arrangements can be a great post service gift to certain guests or family members as a take home memory – indeed never to be forgotten.
