With a bit of Instagram browsing, we came across this artist’s series of beautiful flower and jewelry portraits. They’re light, lovely and the perfect centerpiece to set a positive and loving memory mood for your mother’s funeral or memorial. Here’s suggestions on making one:
1) Stock Up on the Craft Supplies:
Thick paper (watercolor thickness will do), a glue gun and a portrait of your mother.
2) Keep it Simple with Placement:
Too many frills make for a crowded composition. Find a simple mixture of plants, flowers or costume jewelry that will both stand out on the paper and capture your mother’s profile. Perhaps you can gather flowers from her garden or costume jewelry from her drawer to make the portrait extra special.
3) Get Your Artist On:
The great thing about this project is its simplicity, but it will still help to have a scaled picture of your mother. If you have access to a light board, use it to trace her image onto the paper. Arrange the flowers or jewelry before gluing them down.
