Our Tip of the Week: The Danish have long made heart shaped ornaments that deliver a homey warmth to any setting — and we think they’d be perfect for a memorial or celebration of life ceremony. Not only is the craft inexpensive (all you need is thick paper/sturdy fabric), but it’s so easy that everyone in the family of the bereaved can participate in making them.

How-to Suggestion: Felt works particularly well (fabric-wise) for this craft, as will any thick craft paper. You’ll need to pick two colors that you think complement each other well, and basically weave them together. For a detailed diagram on how to assemble the hearts, check out Apartment Therapy’s tutorial here.
